Been a while: a Knight's Return
Here's a colorful one I've been working on the past couple days... If you haven't been watching "Game of Thrones" on HBO then you are missing out, very inspiring book and TV show. I've been busy, however i will try to post more often.

The Bartender +PROCESS
Been working on this one for the past couple of days. Lately I've been really inspired by Kar Wai Wong's 2046. i hope to make more images based from this world.

the Dragon and process
Process of the a typical environment painting.

First, simple washes of value with lasso tool to create shape and composition.
Second, further realizing the different elements (snow, rocks, etc.) and identifying the light source while preserving the simple shapes from the previous step. Overlay brush to create a palette.
third, enhancing the detail and light source, adding atmosphere to show foreground middleground and background. Noodle in some details with texture brushes.
